In a strategic move to maximize global viewership and player availability, the league has announced that Season 5 will kick off on November 22 and run through to December 20. This window ensures that the league avoids clashes with other major T20 franchises, most notably the SA20, which is slated to begin after January 10 next year.
A Packed Schedule Across Three Iconic Cities
Fans can expect the same high-intensity format that has defined the league’s early success. Season 5 will feature a total of 34 matches, consisting of 30 league-stage encounters followed by four high-stakes playoffs. The action will be distributed across the region’s three primary cricket hubs: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. Continuing the tradition established over the past four seasons, the grand finale will once again be hosted in Dubai, providing a glamorous backdrop for the crowning of the next champion.

The growth of the ILT20 is not just limited to the boundaries of the UAE. David White, the ILT20 Chief Executive, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the trajectory of the tournament. “We are delighted with Season 4’s success,” White stated, highlighting the impressive broadcast figures and the surge in spectator interest. He attributed the tournament’s success to the participation of global T20 stars and an ever-increasing quality of play.
Furthermore, the league is aggressively expanding its footprint in the Middle East. Strategic partnerships with the Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation and Kuwait Cricket are already bearing fruit. To further consolidate these ties, the league will organize development tournaments in both Saudi Arabia and Kuwait prior to the start of Season 5, aiming to cultivate new talent and grow the game’s popularity across the region.
